The role of school education in preventing the victimization of children and adolescents, the formation of their anti-victim behavior in the system of ensuring the national security of the Russian Federation

Abstract

Considering the trend of victimization prevalence in societies of many countries around the world, including Russia, the strategies they use for prevention and deterrence of this pernicious phenomenon, which include various measures (development of codes of conduct for public officials and politicians that supplement the legal system, improvement of legislation and its application practices in crime prevention, enhancement of organizational and management mechanisms for their prevention, and the introduction of modern information technologies in the field of combating crime), the authors of this article believe that a key role in the implementation of policies for crime prevention and victimization deterrence should undoubtedly be played by school education.
The authors are convinced that modern criminal policy aimed at combating crime and preventing certain types of crimes will not be fully effective without the integration of relevant educational and enlightenment programmes, as well as educational activities into the school system and believe that teaching the basics of victimology and victimological prevention in school , should be achieved not only by supplementing curriculum and extracurricular activities with topics related to victimization, but by integrating
universal values and concepts associated with this phenomenon into the content of the taught disciplines.
The article analyzes the experience of foreign countries in solving problems associated with victimization in educational institutions, in applying measures to prevent itt, as well as the experience of introducing educational programmes to prevent victimization in the educational process, which can be useful to domestic specialists dealing with issues , related to increasing legal awareness and victimological training of schoolchildren.
