Journal History

The journal has been published since 2001, first as scientific and literary almanac founded by Moscow Institute of social and cultural programs (MISCP) on the initiative of V. K. Sergev, MISCP director, D.Sc. (Soc.Sc.), full member of the Russian academy of social sciences, Honorary Employee of culture of Russian Federation. Almanac published literature reviews, philosophic and culturological essays, results of sociological surveys, and contained also a page dedicated to poesy.

In 2008, the Journal was reorganised to become scientific social and cultural edition and was included on the List of the leading peer-reviewed scientific journals of the Higher attestation committee of the Ministry of science and higher education of Russian Federation. Subsequently, the layout and internal structure of the Journal changed to acquire more academic style. It published scientific and research articles of sociological contents.

In 2014, once MISCP was optimised and some of its divisions were closed, the edition of the Journal was supported by Alexander A. Gorbunov, D.Sc. (Pol.Sc.), Professor, director of the Institute of Humanities of MIIT University. The Journal changed founding organisation for MIIT University (now Russian University of Transport). The journal became regularly published edition (6 issues per year) dedicated to results of research in political science, philosophy sociology of culture. Since then, the spectrum of authors has considerably widened to englobe academia, both researchers and university professors form different Russian regions.

Journal is part of the List of peer-reviewed scientific journals approved by the Higher attestation committee of the Ministry of science and higher education of Russian Federation as for political sociology and sociology of the institutes and social processes.
